(An advanced software package for pattern generation)

About LPGS version 1.0

Logical Pattern Generation System version 1.0 is a collection of a number of pattern generating tools developed using Visual C++ , and it works in Windows 95 environment. The algorithms pertaining to most of the routines in this package have been developed in a novel logico-mathematical framework called Cellular Logic Array Processing (CLAP). This nontraditional paradigm advocates pattern-directed Search And Replace (SAR) techniques, and so, it guarantees speed and precision.

Hardware required

LPGS version 1.0 will run on any IBM compatible PC which has at least 64 MB RAM and 4 GB hard disk. A high resolution color monitor is recommended for a good display. The operating system should be Windows 95 and above or Windows NT and XP.

Other platforms

LPGS version 2.0 runs on Silicon Graphics workstation with the operating system IRIX 6.1 and above. LPGS version 3.0 runs on SOLARIS OS based SUN workstation. LPGS version 3.0 would be ported to SUN SOLARIS environment under the SUN Partnership program and the version 3.0 would be released by August 31, 2007.

Technical details of LPGS

LPGS has three modules: (i) Pattern Generation, (ii) Pattern Processing and (iii) Pattern Design. Patterns are geometric representations of various mathematical formulae. The concepts of Cellular Automata, Lindenmayer Systems, Array Grammars, Complex and Trigonometric functions, and various image processing tools have been used while developing the routines contained in this package.
